Sports for All – Every child has the right to play! Campaign. The Free Entry event was targeted for all the Underprivileged Kids across NGO’s from Mumbai..Focus was to ensure the wonderful kids get a Platform to showcase their talent and potential. It was a beautiful Sunday morning and the enthusiasm of the kids was infectious! We started the Futsal Tournament with the announcement of the schedule for Group A & Group B for Boys & Girls category and a huge applaud from the super energetic kids! A Sumptuous breakfast with a burger meal welcomed the kids and Lo! Our first match commenced at 9 am. As the competition progressed, it got difficult to stay glued to our seats.
A series of matches continued, time just flew and in no time we had the top 4 teams that made it through the competition from both categories. Interestingly to make things more competitive, nature showered us with rain. Sporting spirit soar higher and stronger –the intent to win! There was a short recess due to heavy rain but the kids didn’t stop playing, they laughed and played away with the widest of smiles & cheer! With this, we had already achieved our goal! Unlimited Lunch was served. As the children enjoyed, the semifinals started while it was still drizzling. In a while, the sun shined bright and the focus was back on the finals.
In the Boys category, after the grueling 12 league matches, the top 2 teams from each group reached the Semi Finals. Jeevan Dhara Trust got the better of Oscar Foundation to lock horns with Tereserian Charitable Trust who defeated Vision Rescue. In the Girls category, Akanksha Foundation got the better of Young United Foundation to lock horns with Tereserian Charitable Trust who defeated Vision Rescue.
